Partner With Eazi Access For Peace Of Mind
Eazi Access’s core value as a business is safety. Maintaining the highest standards of safety is a major focus area, with significant resources dedicated to contributing to the institutions that guide its industry.
According to Blaize Wulfsohn, Eazi Access General Manager: Compliance & Enterprise Risk Management, “Our business philosophy is that we are intentional about adding value to the business of our customers, with tailor-made solutions addressing their unique needs within their industries. We do this in the following key areas: safety improvements, risk mitigation, productivity gains, and cost savings. Safety is the golden thread that runs through everything we do. This means we prioritise the safety of our people and customers on and off-site.”
“As a company that has been voted Africa’s Number One Rental Company in the Access 50 Rental Fleets survey by Access International and holding the 64th position worldwide, we are proud to commemorate our 21st birthday in 2024. This brings a greater responsibility to ensure our machines are reliable, efficient, and operated safely by operators, keeping everyone on-site safe,” added Wulfsohn.
Any work performed two metres or more above ground level is known as work at height, a high-risk activity if the correct machinery or PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is not used or if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Eazi Access’s product and service offerings include rental, sales, servicing, and training across diverse industries, such as Mining, Construction, Entertainment, Agriculture, Energy, and Light and Heavy industries. Safety standards are a top priority, and the company dedicates significant resources to industry participation and guidance.
Wulfsohn added, “One of the guiding institutions in South Africa is the IWH (Institute for Work at Height). The MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) Chamber of the IWH represents member companies and practitioners in South Africa. Our Group Training Manager, Glenn Leloka, serves on the IWH National Executive Committee as the MEWP Chamber Vice Chair.” MEWPs include specialised machines like Boom Lifts (articulating and telescopic), Scissor Lifts, Mast Boom Lifts, and Trailer- and Truck-Mounted Boom Lifts.
Every aspect of a MEWP is governed by strict safety standards and regulations, particularly Section 18 of the Driven Machinery Regulations (DMR 18), covering essential safety and periodic inspection and testing requirements. The DMR 18(11) prohibits untrained individuals from operating MEWPs. Most MEWPs are manufactured outside South Africa; therefore, OHS Act, Section 10 mandates that importers, sellers, and suppliers ensure equipment safety.
Eazi Access has partnered with trusted OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), JLG, Linde Material Handling, and Manitou, to provide safe working equipment. Complementing this, their sister company, Uplift Quality Solutions (UQS), offers training for operators, handlers, technicians, and transporters. UQS is an accredited Training Provider with TETA (Transport Education and Training Authority) and ETDP SETA (Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority), specialising in Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) training.
