Eazi Access Brings Joy to Others On Mandela Day

Aug 23, 2016

In commemoration of Mandela Day, the Eazi Access Johannesburg Team visited some of their partner charity organisations in the community with one goal in mind: to make a difference in the lives of others. This act was in honour of the late Nelson Mandela, who said, “It is in your hands, to make a better world for all who live in it.”

The team is a regular visitor at the St Janes Chantal Home, where they spent the morning bearing gifts and groceries for the children housed there. St Janes Chantal Home is a non-profit institution caring for HIV-positive and abandoned children, many of whom arrive undernourished and traumatised. The home provides these children with food, shelter, education, and basic medical care in a loving family environment that meets their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. The children range from 6-month-old babies to teenagers up to 15 years old.

Other members of the Eazi Access Team took the opportunity to hand over a cheque of R60,000 to Manger Care Centre in Benoni. This donation is part of Eazi Access’s initiatives focused on Socio-Economic Development.

Manger Care Centre is a Benoni-based non-profit organisation that provides shelter and empowers vulnerable and destitute individuals through various initiatives. These include a feeding scheme, clothing distribution, skills development, stay & pay opportunities, 12 Step Recovery programme, and mental health support services. Manger Care Centre also offers psychological and spiritual guidance, counselling, and emotional support, striving to make beneficiaries feel valued and worthy members of society.

During their visit, the Eazi Access team was given a tour by one of the fundraisers to learn more about the various programs and projects offered at the centre. Tralone Lindiwe Khoza, Eazi Access PR & Communications Specialist, shared, “We are delighted to continue our journey with Manger Care Centre. Eazi Access celebrates its 21st birthday this year, and it is important to recognise that this milestone would not have been possible without the incredible communities within which we operate. We look forward to continuing to contribute to those in need.”

Over the years, Eazi Access has been a long-standing donor and proud partner to Manger Care Centre, both of which ascribe to the ethos of Lao Tzu: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” Through its various programs, Manger Care Centre helps beneficiaries regain stability and become financially self-sufficient.

Nonkululeko Mdlalose, one of Manger Care Centre’s beneficiaries, joined in 2021 following a major financial setback during COVID-19. Today, she proudly shares that she has trained in Animal Production and is in the process of registering her own farming business. She extends her heartfelt gratitude to Eazi Access for its generous donation, which she says will go a long way in helping others like herself in need.
