Eazi does it: Opening Access Equipment Doors In The Mining Industry
Eazi Access has expanded its fleet by adding a second Hi-Capacity JLG Model, the JLG 800 HC3 AJ, strengthening its offering in work-at-height solutions. As the sole distributor of JLG in South Africa, Eazi Access provides a range of lift equipment including aerial lifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and low-level access lifts.
According to Marcus Green, GM of Rental & Sales at Eazi Access, the JLG Hi-Capacity range was developed to meet demand for lifting more people and tools to height. The first model introduced was the JLG 460SJ HC3 Telescopic Boom Lift, a 16-metre-high unit that accommodates up to three workers and tools on the platform, optimising flexibility and capacity at height. The JLG 800 HC3 AJ is the second model, boasting a working height of 26 metres and an articulated jib (AJ) for up-and-over capabilities, making it versatile for complex tasks.
Green noted that unlike some other high-capacity models, JLG’s Hi-Capacity range maintains full outreach without adding a larger counterweight, which would increase tailswing. Additionally, the entire range supports a three-person capacity throughout, even as the weight capacity changes with height, making it both safe and efficient.
The introduction of the JLG 800 HC3 AJ has already received positive market feedback, particularly in the mining industry. Previously focused on material handling with telehandlers, the mining sector is now expanding to access platforms like the 800 HC3 AJ, which offers a 454-kilogram capacity suitable for three operators. One key mining client quickly secured the new unit, eager to benefit from its enhanced capabilities and the improved safety it brings to on-site operations.
Green expressed excitement about the impact this model could have in the market: “We’re looking forward to hearing how our customers find this unit and the difference it makes on-site.”
