More People And Tools At Height

Sep 2, 2020

Eazi Access, Africa’s leading work-at-height and material-handling solutions provider, has introduced the JLG 460SJ HC3 telescopic boom to South Africa—the first of JLG’s five-model Hi-Capacity range. This new model meets rising demand for tools and personnel at height, featuring three working zones and a platform capacity that allows up to three workers with tools.

Marcus Green, GM of Rental & Sales Support at Eazi Access, explains that conventional booms only accommodate an operator and one artisan, making it challenging when two artisans are needed. The 460SJ HC3 solves this with its three-person platform, allowing an operator and two artisans at full height, eliminating the need to over-specify larger machines, which saves customers on costs. Green notes that this addition marks a turning point, particularly for industries such as 5G installations, where two technicians and an operator can now work simultaneously at height.

Machine Highlights and Capabilities

The JLG 460SJ HC3 offers a 16.2 m working height with up to 13 m outreach and continuous 360-degree rotation. With a 300 kg capacity in the full work envelope and up to 454 kg in restricted zones, it supports heavy loads and large tools in the basket. Notably, the 2.44 m basket provides a spacious working area, reducing the need for frequent repositioning and improving safety and efficiency.

Load Sensing Technology enhances safety by automatically adjusting the range based on the weight detected, ensuring the machine stays within the allowed work envelope. Additionally, ClearSky telematics provides real-time machine status, facilitating remote maintenance. An LED display informs operators of the active load chart, while a tilt alarm alerts when the slope exceeds five degrees.

Meeting Market Demands

Green acknowledges that the market remains challenging post-Covid-19. However, Eazi Access’s dedication to safety, productivity, and cost-saving solutions has kept the company resilient. The JLG 460SJ HC3 aligns with this commitment, providing customers with a tool to improve operational efficiency without sacrificing safety.

In a tough market, Eazi Access continues to prioritize partnerships and customer-focused solutions, embodying its mission to deliver productivity gains and safe, efficient operations across Africa.
